Jacks Second at Kansas City Shootout
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The South Dakota State women’s golf team sits in second place Monday behind leader Wichita State at the Kansas City Shootout at the Shoal Creek Golf Club in Kansas City, Mo.
The Jacks shot a 618 (309-309) on the par-72, 6,124-yard layout and trail the Shockers by 11 shots.
MacDonald fired a 78 in the first round, but came back with a three-over par 75 in the second round. Her 153 is tied for the sophomore’s lowest 36-hole score of her career.
Dunmire had a 77 on the first 18 and a 76 on the second 18. Her 76 was a career-low and her 153 is a career-low 36-hole score.
Freshman Islamiah Fuad (Perak, Malaysia) is tied for ninth after shooting a three-over par 75 in the first round and a 79 in the second round.
Competing as individuals, freshman Megan Mingo (Yankton) is tied for 19th after shooting a 157 (82-75). Junior Amber Houser (Northfield, Minn.) shot a 167 (84-83) to tie for 56th and freshman Hallie Getz (Pierre) shot a 171 (86-85) to rank tied for 70th.
The Jackrabbits return for the third round Tuesday.
