MORTON, Minn. — The South Dakota State University men's and women's golf teams retained the Dakota Cup, winning both of their matchups in the four-team combined match-play event over the weekend at Dacotah Ridge Golf Club.
The top-seeded Jackrabbits opened the event with an 11-2 victory over the University of South Dakota on Saturday. The SDSU women's team won all five of its matches, inclduing a 5-and-4 victory by freshman Morgan Fitts.
SDSU squared off against North Dakota State in Sunday's championship and came away with a 9-5 victory. The Jackrabbit men won five of the eight head-to-head matchups, with the women holding a 4-2 advantage over the Bison.
The Dakota Cup concludes the season for the Jackrabbit golf teams.
