The Summit League released its list postseason all-league honors on Thursday, a list that includes South Dakota State seniors Kelli Fiegen as an all-league selection, Shay Birath as an all-league honorable mention selection and freshman Sydney Howard on the all-freshmen team.

"It's nice for the other coaches in the league to recognize the hard work of our players," head coach Phil McDaniel said. "I'm sure I speak for the players when I say that our team effort throughout the season helped make these individual awards possible."

A middle blocker from Parkston, S.D., Fiegen earned all-Summit League honors after leading the Jackrabbits with a .333 hitting percentage and after finishing the season with a team-high 342 kills, 26 solo blocks and 130 block assists. Despite missing three matches due to injury, she led the league with 1.30 blocks per set, finished eighth in kills and third in hitting percentage.

Fiegen finished her career ranked sixth all-time at SDSU with 1,407 kills, seventh with 109 solo blocks, second with 409 block assists and third all-time at SDSU with a .326 career hitting percentage.

Birath earned all-league honorable mention honors after a season that saw her break the SDSU career digs record with 1,970, 41 more than the previous record of 1,929. The only player in SDSU history to cross the 600-dig mark twice in their career, the Marshall, Minn., native led the Jackrabbits with 617 digs in her senior season, good for second in The Summit League.

A redshirt freshman from Cedar Falls, Iowa, Howard split the setting duties with junior Lexi Fowler and still finished 13th in the league with 484 set assists. Her 91 total blocks, 84 assists and seven solo, easily led setters in the league, while her 88 kills ranked third among setters.
