Jacks Finish Third at Beu/Mussatto Invitational

MACOMB, Ill.—The South Dakota State men’s golf team finished third at the 42nd annual Beu/Mussato Invitational at the Harry Mussatto Golf Course in Macomb, Ill., Tuesday after shooting a 921 at the par-72, 6,862-yard layout.
 
Bradley University won the event, firing a 913 (299-310-304).
 
Carpenter (Stillwater, Minn.) shot a one-under par 71 to finish the invitational with a 228 (76-81-71). Baker (Eden Prairie, Minn.) also shot a 228 (75-81-72) after shooting a par 72 in the final round.
 
Freshman Grant Smith shot a 230 (76-76-78) to tie for 11th.  Freshman Trevor Tobin (Brandon) finished tied for 30th after shooting a 237 (76-81-80) and senior Lukas Davison (Fargo, N.D.) shot a 243 (81-79-83) to tie for 48th.
 
Competing as individuals, freshman Guillermo Gonzalez (Merida, Yucatan) fired a 239 (80-83-76). Sophomore Austin Sitter (Sioux Falls) shot a 242 (85-79-78) and freshman Ian Rinkin (Sioux Falls) shot a 245 (79-83-83).

The Jackrabbits return to action April 7-8 at the Red Wolves Intercollegiate at Arkansas State.
