Scott finishes eighth at NRHA Derby
OKLAHOMA CITY – South Dakota State junior Raivenne Scott competed in the prestigious NRHA Derby Catch Ride on Saturday in Oklahoma City, and rode to a eighth place finish with a score of 141.0, getting the same 70.5 score from both judges.
“The NRHA Collegiate Reining Championship showcases 12 of the best collegiate riders in the country and it is extremely exciting to have an athlete from South Dakota State as one of those top 12,” SDSU head coach Megan Rossiter said.
A Cornelius, Ore., native, Scott posted 10 wins as a sophomore in 2013-14, the second-highest single-season total in school history, and her 15 reining wins ranks fourth all-time at SDSU.
Georgia rider McKenzie E. Lantz won the event with a score of 145.5.
