Niewojna picked for AQHA Horsemanship Challenge
WACO, Texas - The American Quarter Horse Association selected eight National Collegiate Equestrian Association riders to participate in its 2014 Collegiate Horsemanship Challenge, a list which includes South Dakota State sophomore Elizabeth Niewojna.
“I’m excited for Lizzy to have the opportunity to compete at the Horsemanship Challenge,” head coach Megan Rossiter said. “She’s an extremely talented athlete, and already made a big impact on Jackrabbit equestrian as a freshman.”
Set for November 19-20 in Oklahoma City, Okla., the event takes place as part of the AQHA World Championship Show.
Eight riders, all current student-athletes during the 2014-15 season, represent eight different institutions at the event. The AQHA used 2013-14 individual statistics for horsemanship to select the riders.
The preliminaries take place Wednesday, Nov. 19, at 11 a.m., with the finals set for 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 20.
