South Dakota State University women's basketball standout Nancy (Joyce) Keppen was inducted into the Jackrabbit Sports Hall of Fame during ceremonies at the 2004 Festival of Champions.
A 1980 graduate of SDSU and Sioux Falls native, Keppen finished her career as the all-time leading scorer and rebounder in Jackrabbit women's basketball history. With 1,415 points she still ranked ninth on the SDSU career scoring chart and her 959 career rebounds ranked second at the time of her induction.
Playing in an era before a regular North Central Conference schedule, she earned all-tournament honors at the first-ever North Central Conference women's basketball tournament in 1980. In her four-year career, she averaged 15.5 points and 11.1 rebounds per game, while shooting 53 percent from the field.
Keppen, along with fellow inductee Greg Schmidt, were the 44th and 45th members of the Jackrabbit Sports Hall of Fame.
