2013 Jackrabbit Volleyball Camps
South Dakota
State Volleyball gears its camps toward all skill levels of players from in grades
2-12. The camps provide an opportunity
for players to experience the excitement surrounding Jackrabbit volleyball.
The purpose
of the Jackrabbit Volleyball Camps is to give athletes to tools necessary to
become a complete volleyball player. The coaching staff and players work with
beginners to elite level volleyball players in a competitive and fun environment,
and they provide the opportunity to take your skills to the next level. We design our competitive camp structure to
challenge you, push you and help you prepare for your coming season and
beyond!

Youth Camp - July 8-10 (Monday-Wednesday)
For campers
entering grades 2-5
Check-in: Monday July 8, 9 a.m. - noon
Camp: 9 a.m. - noon
Cost: $80
Youth Camp
is designed to introduce young players to the basic fundamentals of volleyball
including serving, passing, attacking, setting and defense.
All campers
receive a t-shirt and water bottle!
Middle School Camp - July 8-10 (Monday-Wednesday)
For campers
entering grade 6-8
Check-in: Monday, July 8, 1-2 p.m.
Camp: 2 - 5:30 p.m.
Cost: $120
Middle
School Camp prepares athletes for the move up to the next level of competition,
with an emphasis on the fundamentals of individual volleyball skills including
serving, passing, attacking, setting and defense.
All campers
receive a t-shirt and water bottle!
Skills Camp - July 15-17 (Monday -
Wednesday)
For campers
entering grades 7-12
Check-in: Monday, July 15, 1-2 p.m.
Camp Sessions: Monday - 2-4:30 p.m., 6-8
p.m.
Tuesday - 9:30 a.m.-noon,
2-4:30 p.m., 6-8 p.m.
Wednesday - 9:30 a.m.-noon,
1:30-4 p.m.
Cost: Resident - $325 including housing
and meals
Commuter - $225 including lunch and
dinner
Skills Camp provides
instruction to enhance the fundamentals of every basic volleyball skill. While
all campers receive the opportunity to work on each skill, some sessions also
focus on improving skills based on position. Liberos learn the basics of serve receive and back row defense. Attackers learn position-specific arm swing and footwork mechanics as well as blocking
technique. Setters learn basic footwork, various types of sets and how to run
an offense. The camp concludes with a
tournament competition!

Elite Camp - July 18-20 (Thursday-Saturday)
For campers
entering grades 10-12
Check-in: Thursday, July 18, 1-2 p.m.
Camp Sessions: Thursday, 2-4:30 p.m.,
6-8 p.m.
Friday, 9:30 a.m.-noon, 2-4:30 p.m., 6-8 p.m.
Saturday, 9:30 a.m.-noon., 1:30-4 p.m.
Cost: Resident - $350 including housing
and meals
Commuter - $250 including lunch and
dinner
Elite Camp
offers the highest level of training to the experienced player. It's designed to expose campers to the collegiate
practice and competition environment, and is a great opportunity for athletes to
raise their overall skill level in a challenging atmosphere. Campers receive
instruction on all types of volleyball contacts and an understanding of how
each touch fits into an overall offensive and defensive system. The Elite Camp
prepares campers for a faster, more intense level of volleyball.

Elite Camp
also includes an information session about the recruiting process, NCAA
compliance and the strength and conditioning side of volleyball training.
Team Tournament - July 12-13 (Friday and
Saturday)
Check-in: at Frost Arena, one hour
prior to your first match
NEW THIS YEAR: Choose 'A' or 'B' division. Get a competitive atmosphere that's right for your team.
Camp Begins: Friday, July 12 - 9 a.m.
Camp Ends: Saturday, July 13 - 4 p.m.
Cost: $325 per team
Additional Options: One night, AIR
CONDITIONED room - $75/player (meals included)
Two nights, AIR CONDITIONED room - $105/player (meals included)
Lunch on
each Friday and Saturday - $20/player
*Up to two
coaches stay and/or eat free with their team!

Your team gets
the opportunity to play together prior to the 2013 season in a collegiate
atmosphere. This camp focuses on competition. The schedule is based on number
of teams participating but includes pool play, followed by bracket play. Each camper receives a t-shirt!
FAQs:
What should I bring? All campers should
bring the following: court shoes, shorts, t-shirts, socks and knee pads (if
desired). In addition, resident campers
should bring a fan, towel and personal toiletries.
Are discounts available? Yes! Siblings attending camp receive a $10
discount per camper (Not applicable to team camp). Please mail applications together to receive
the discount. Also,the same camper attending two individual skills camps receives $10 off per camp. Discounts cannot be combined and must be mailed together.
What if I can only attend part of camp? Contact assistant coach Kristin Belzung at jackrabbitvbcamps@gmail.com or
605-688-5737 to inquire about a prorated camp fee for the sessions you are able
to attend.
What is the player to coach ratio? At minimum we will have at least ine coach for
every eight campers.
Are camp accomodations air-conditioned? Yes! New this year, all resident campers stay in air conditioned halls!
Is airport transportation available? Sioux Falls airport transportation can be provided for a cost. Please contact assistant coach Kristin Belzung at the time of registration to make arrangements.

Jackrabbit
Volleyball camps and clinics are open to any and all entrants (limited only by
number, age, grade level and/or gender).
If a camper
requires any accommodations due to special needs, we ask that you notify us via
email or in writing of those needs a minimum of two weeks prior to the camp
start date so we can make the accommodations.
