The South Dakota State women's soccer team earned the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Team Academic Award for the 2011-12 academic year.
The award is presented to any team that posts a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher (on a 4.0 scale) for the given academic year.
"We have always espoused that we have great student-athletes at South Dakota State and this is one more indication of how hard our players work in the classroom," head coach Lang Wedemeyer said.
The NSCAA recognized a total of 741 collegiate soccer teams (227 men, 514 women) for the award.
