Equestrian rolls Minnesota in exhibition meet

The South Dakota State equestrian team opened its home schedule on Saturday with an 8-2 win over Minnesota in a hunt seat only exhibition meet at the DeHaan Equestrian Center, taking home both MOP honors in the process.

Junior Blair Long scored an 80 over fences to win MOP honors, joining Blair Julia Wright, Nicole Bangasser and Kelsey Cordell, all of whom won their point over fences.

Freshman Blair Julia Wright made it a clean sweep on the day with a point on the flat, and won MOP honors in the process with a score of 87. Bangasser and Cordell also won their point on the flat, as did Jessica Andronowitz.  

The Jackrabbit western squad gets their chance next weekend, when they host exhibition meets against North Dakota State and Minnesota-Crookston, both on Saturday at the DeHaan Equestrian Center.
