South Dakota State jumped out to an early lead, winning the first five events, and never looked back as it defeated Northern Iowa 191-103 Friday night at HPER Center Pool.

Emily Campbell and Kayce Smith went one/two in the 100 breaststroke with times of 1:06.81 and 1:07.71, respectively. Cambell also won the  200 IM with a time of 2:11.59 and was part of the 400 medley relay team that won with a time of 3:59.81. Joining Campbell was McKenna Shallberg, Devonne Dalin and Kaylin Caron. Shallberg also won the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:00.21, while Dalin won the 50 freestyle, finishing in 24.68.

SDSU claimed the top-three spots in the 200 breaststroke, as Campbell, Jessie Hendricks and Kayce Smith finished in 2:22.48, 2:28.35 and 2:29.82, respectively.

Emma Gaulke-Janowski won the 1000 freestyle with a mark of 10:50.84. Kendra Hinton came in at 10:55.65, good for second place. Andee Budahl won the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:13.91.

In the 200 freestyle, freshman Julia Bodnaruk claimed first place with a winning time of 1:56.36. Nicole Grimit took second with a time of 1:58.08. Grimit and Bodnaruk reversed finishes in the 100 freestyle, as Grimit was victorious with a time of 54.58 and Bodnaruk took second with a time of 54.73.

SDSU's 200 freestyle team of Dalin, Abby Zenner, Grimit and Caron won the event with a time of 1:39.04.

On the board, Olivia Olesiak won the 3-meter dive with a score of 222.98 and took second with a mark of 214.42 in the 1-meter.

SDSU will travel to UW-Green Bay on Nov. 2, with action kicking of at noon.
