BROOKINGS, S.D. -- The South Dakota State women's swimming and diving team lost to Iowa State 220-79 on Saturday at the HPER Center Pool.
Freshman Samantha Fossum won the second event of the day in the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:32.37.
Senior Morgan McLain won the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:08.78. McLain finished second in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:07.45.
Jessica Ferley finished second in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:00.27.
The 200-yard medley relay team of Ferley, McLain, Ashley Valdez and Nicole Grimit finished second with a time of 1:49.17.
The 400-yard freestyle relay team of Valdez, Grimit, Fossum and Ferley finished with a time of 3:36.65.
Erin Eagen finished third in both the one-meter and three-meter. Her scores were 218.55 and 245.48.
The women's next meet is Nov. 12 against Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls.
