CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- The South Dakota State University women's swimming and diving team defeated Northern Iowa, 189-105, on Saturday afternoon.
The Jackrabbits won 12 of the 16 events. Morgan McLain, Jessica Ferley and Ashley Valdez each were part of three wins.
McLain won the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:26.96 and the 400-yard individual medley in 4:36.17. McLain was also part of the winning 400-yard medley relay with Ferley, Valdez and Kaylin Caron which finished in 4:01.48.
Valdez won the 50-yard freestyle in 25.04 seconds and the 100-yard butterfly in 58.13 seconds.
Ferley won the 100 and 200-yard backstroke with times of 59.65 seconds and 2:09.72.
Freshman Samantha Fossum also won two individual events, claiming the 500-yard freestyle in 5:13.32 and the 1,000-yard freestyle in 10:34.59.
Andrea Budahl won the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:58.22.
Trina Young won the 200-yard butterfly in 2:11.73 and Nicole Grimit won the 100-yard freestyle in 54.42 seconds.
The Jackrabbits will next take on South Dakota in Vermillion on Nov. 19.
