BROOKINGS, S.D.-- The South Dakota State University women’s swimming and diving team dropped the first home dual of the season Friday night, with the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay edginig out the Jacks by a final tally of 132.5-108.5.
The Jackrabbits won five of 13 events in the home opener.
Junior Andee Budahl took home first place finishes in the 1,000-yard freestyle and 500-yard freestyle with times of 10:29.24 and 5:12.21, respectively.
The Jacks took the top three spots in the 50-yard freestyle. Senior Devonne Dalin won the event with a time of 24.51 seconds. Junior Kaylin Caron swam a 25.04 followed closely by freshman Abby Zenner with a 25.14.
Dalin also had the top time in the 100-yard freestyle, finishing in 53.19 seconds.
Sophomore Nicole Grimit posted a time of 1:57.48 in the 200-yard freestyle.
The final event of the night ended in a tie between two SDSU teams. The team of Dalin, Zenner, Grimit and Caron touched the wall at the same time as a team of senior Kylie Poel, junior Shauna Foor, sophomore Trina Young and junior Fawn Weihl in the 200-yard freestyle relay.
The lone diver for the Jacks, freshman Olivia Olesiak, placed second in both the one-meter and three-meter events. Olesiak posted a 228.68 in the three-meter dive and a 230.02 in the one meter dive.
SDSU hits the pool next against Nebraska on Nov. 9, with a 4 p.m. start time.
