Jared Vlastuin and Mary Wirth competed at the Arkansas Track & Field Final Qualifier today...

Both South Dakota State track & field athletes attempted to secure automatic qualifying distances in the jumps.

Wirth competed in the high jump, clearing five feet, eight inches. The jump earned her a fourth-place finish in the event, but was a bit shy of the qualifying mark.

Vlastuin competed in the high jump and long jump. In the long jump, Vlastuin posted a distance of 24 feet, two and one-fourth inches. The distance placed him sixth in the event, but did not reach the automatic qualifying distance.

The Jacks have two more student-athletes competing tomorrow at Notre Dame. Michael Krsnak and Jake Schneller are set to run the 3000 meter and 800 meter, respectively.
