The South Dakota State men's and women's track and field teams were both picked to finish the outdoor season in fourth place...
The women's team is fresh off of a fourth-place finish at the Summit League Indoor Championships. The team was led by Lora Shearer, Female Field MVP, along with Mary Wirth, who captured the high jump title.
The men's team finished in fifth place. The team was boosted by Jared Vlastuin, who won two events and placed second in another. Vlastuin was named the Male Field MVP of the championships.
Both teams were behind its respective next team by six points or less at the indoor event.
