MINNEAPOLIS – The South Dakota state women’s track and field team completed day two of the Jack Johnson Invite. This was the first meet of 2013 as they were unable to compete last week in Fargo, N.D.
In the high jump, Kali Olson took sixth with a height of 5’ 03.50”.
Brooke Garner took first place in the weight throw with a
mark of 58’ 11.25”.
Tera Potts finished sixth in the mile with a time of 5:00.79.
Ashley Gruenwald recorded a time of 1:41.66.
In the 400-meter dash, Jessica McDonald had time of 1:00.81.
SDSU found great success in the collegiate division of the shot put; the Jackrabbits had three throwers in the top-ten.
Samantha Anderson completed the 800-meter dash in a time of 2:20.25. Anderson took 11th.
In the 3,000-meter run, Erin Hargens finished in a time of 10:22.04. Hargens placed eighth in the race.
In the shot put invite division, Garner placed eighth with a throw of 44’ 02.50”.
The final event of the day was the 4x400. Odegaard, Fritz, McDonald and Bren combined for a time of 3:58.41. The Jackrabbits took seventh in the race.
SDSU finished fifth at the meet.
Next weekend the Jackrabbits will be back in action as they travel to Ames, Iowa to compete in the Bill Bergan Invite hosted by Iowa State.
