Jackrabbits head north for Bison Open
The Meet: The Bison Open is held inside the Shelly Ellig Track and Field Complex in Fargo, N.D. The men’s weight throw starts the field events (9 a.m.), while the track events begin with the men’s 5,000-meter run at 2:20 p.m.

Last Time Out: The Jacks competed at the USD Alumni Meet last weekend and also sent a handful of distance runners to the Frank Sevigne Husker Invite.
At the USD Alumni Meet, Marc Husman led the Jackrabbit men with his win in the 400-meter dash (50.45). A number of other Jackrabbits posted top-five finishes in their respective events, including Jeremiah Ary. Ary claimed second overall in the long jump with his distance of 22-1 ¾ and took third overall in the triple jump with his mark of 43-9 ¼.
On the women’s team, Shelby Assmus won the shot put event and Amy Paulzine claimed the weight throw title. Carly Carper continued her stellar sophomore season as she jumped into the SDSU record books. Carper posted a mark of 18-6 ½ in the long jump; her mark ranks fourth all-time at SDSU. Courtney Neubert and Megan West both ran personal-best times in the 3,000-meter run at the Husker Invite.
Next Up: The Jackrabbits are set to compete next weekend in their final tune-up before The Summit League Indoor Track and Field Championships (Feb. 28-March 1) in Fort Wayne, Ind. Next weekend SDSU is scheduled to attend the Nebraska Tune-Up and South Dakota Twilight, both meets are on Friday, Feb. 21.
