Track on the road for Friday competition
The South Dakota State track and field teams are on the road Friday for their final competition before The Summit League Indoor Track and Field Championships next weekend. The Jackrabbits are splitting squads Friday as they are set to compete at Nebraska and South Dakota.
The Nebraska Tune-Up is held inside the Bob Devaney Sports Center in Lincoln, Neb. The action on the track starts at 12:30 p.m., with the women’s distance medley relay. The field events begin with the men’s weight throw at 2 p.m.
South Dakota Twilight:
The South Dakota Twilight is held inside the DakotaDome in Vermillion, S.D. The field events start at 4:30 p.m., with the men’s shot put. The prelims of the 60-meter hurdles start the track events at 6 p.m.

Last Time Out:
SDSU traveled to Fargo, N.D., last Saturday as they competed in the Bison Open. Numerous Jackrabbits set personal-bests and top finishes.
Ary won the long jump with his mark of 22-10, Bowers ran a personal-best time of 10:26.33 to take the 3,000-meter run, Reichow won the 5,000-meter run with his time of 14:42.81 and Mary Wirth cleared a height of 5-8 to win the high jump event.
Carly Carper, Jake Sanderson and Nathaniel Schaefer highlighted a group of Jackrabbits that set personal-best performances at the meet. Carper moved into a tie for third all-time in the SDSU record books in long jump event with her distance of 18-8.
Sanderson posted a personal-best distance of 46-2 in the triple jump and Schaefer cleared a personal-best height of 15-5 in the pole vault event.
The Jackrabbits travel to Fort Wayne, Ind., for the 2013-14 Summit League Indoor Track and Field Championships. The two-day meet is held inside the IPFW Athletics Center. The conference championships take place Feb. 28-March 1.
