Fritz improves her 200-meter dash time

LINCOLN, Neb. – Gina Fritz posted two season-best times Friday at the Nebraska Tune-Up. Fritz clocked in for a season-best time of 7.88 seconds in the 60-meter dash and she also recorded a personal-best time of 24.99 in the 200-meter dash. Her 200-meter dash time is the third-fastest in school history.

Carly Carper ran a season-best time in the 60-meter dash. Carper posted a final time of 7.74 to place sixth.

Jessica McDonald shaved .10 seconds off her old personal best in the 200-meter dash as she clocked in for a final time of 26.33 today.

In the 400-meter dash, Kala McDonald and Jacleen Patterson both set personal-best times. K. McDonald posted a final time of 59.11 to take 11th and Patterson finished in 19th with her time of 1:00.01.

Laura Lawton led the Jackrabbits in the 800-meter run with her ninth-place finish. She ran a personal-best time of 2:18.27.

Brooke Peterson dropped 10 seconds off her 1,000-meter personal best time. Peterson crossed the finish line in 3:02.06 to take third.

Four Jackrabbit runners set personal-best times in the one-mile run at the Nebraska Tune-Up Friday. Jessica Eibs led the charge with her sixth-place finish and time of 5:01.55. Eibs also moves into 10th-place all-time in the SDSU record books with her time today. Lindsey Strait finished right behind Eibs with her time of 5:01.97, as she placed seventh.

Brooke Peterson and Karley Konkol ran times of 5:05.83 and 5:10.97 to finish 11th and 19th, respectively.

In the 3,000-meter run, four Jackrabbit runners finished in the top-10, including two personal-best performances. Megan West finished in the top-three with her final time of 10:10.21. The Jackrabbits claimed the eighth- through tenth-place spots. Alex Suhr, Cheyanne Bowers and Jenna Grossenburg went 8-9-10. Suhr and Grossenburg both recorded posted personal-best times as they clocked in at 10:22.89 and 10:24.13, respectively. Bowers ran a season-best time of 10:23.89.

The 4x400-meter relay team of Patterson, Lori Foltz, Evelyn Klein and K. McDonald combined for final time of 4:00.53.

Marissia Hagedorn ran to a 10th-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles with her final time of 9.27.

Mary Wirth and Kali Olson both cleared a height of 5 feet, 5 inches in the high jump event. Wirth took fifth, while Olson posted a ninth-place finish.

VERMILLION, S.D. – Shelby Assmus and Amy Paulzine each posted a third-place finish at the USD Twilight. In the shot put, Assmus recorded a distance of 46-11 3/4 to place third overall and Paulzine posted a mark of 54-10 to take third in the weight throw.

Courtney Trapp led the Jackrabbits in the 60-meter dash (8.17) and the 200-meter dash (27.62).

In the 800-meter run, Erica Meyer ran a season-best time of 2:23.47 as she finished in sixth-place.

Cailyn Schreurs posted an eighth-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles with her final time of 9.41.

The Summit League Indoor Track and Field Championships are up next for the Jackrabbits. The conference meet takes place Feb. 28-March 1 inside the IPFW Athletics Center in Fort Wayne, Ind.
