Brookings, S.D. – The men’s and women’s cross country teams will be heading to Springfield, Mo. to compete in the NCAA Midwest regionals on Friday.
About the race:
The meet is being held on the Missouri State University campus. The women will be running a 6k, while the men will be competing in a 10k race.
About the other teams:
In the women’s race there will be thirty-five teams competing. Iowa State, Minnesota and Oklahoma State are all currently ranked in the nation.
On the men’s side, there are thirty teams including four nationally ranked teams. Oklahoma State is ranked number one in the country followed by Oklahoma, Tulsa and Kansas.
About the Jackrabbits:
Two weeks the men claimed their third Summit League Championship in four years, while the women finished in third.
Last year at the regional race:
The women finished 16th and the men finished 17th. Hargens finished 69th with a time of 22:41.33.
Lusignan completed the race in 33:05.7.
The Jackrabbits will be looking to improve on those marks from last year, the women will race at 12 p.m. and the men will run at 1:15 p.m.
