The South Dakota State men's and women's cross country teams are set to host the SDSU Classic on Saturday, Oct. 1, at Edgebrook Golf Course in Brookings, S.D.
The classic will begin at 9:20 a.m. with the men's 8,000 meters, followed by the women's 5,000 meters at 10 a.m. Awards will be handed out at 10:45 a.m. to the first 15 finishers and the top three finishers from NAIA schools (who are not in the top 15).
On the men's side, eight teams (and alumni) will run in the SDSU Classic: Nebraska, Northern Iowa, North Dakota, MN State Mankato, Wayne State, Mount Marty, Midland Lutheran, University of Sioux Falls and SDSU Alumni.
On the women's side, nine teams will run: Minnesota, Nebraska, Northern Iowa, North Dakota, Wayne State, Minnesota Duluth, Mount Marty, Midland Lutheran and University of Sioux Falls.

Last week, both the men's and women's cross country teams competed at the Roy Griak Invitational in Minneapolis, Minn.
Senior Greg Vollmer continued his early success as the Jackrabbits' top performer. Vollmer finished in 65th place with a time of 25 minutes and 14 seconds in the 8k.
Junior Tera Potts took the lead for the Jacks in this meet, finishing in 150th place with a time of 23 minutes and 18 seconds in the 6k.
