Brookings, S.D. – Both men’s and women’s cross country teams will be hosting their lone meet of the season, the SDSU Classic, this Friday, Sept. 14, at the Edgebrook Golf Course.
The women are slated to begin their race at 6:15 p.m., with the men following at 6:45 p.m. The awards ceremony is scheduled to take place at 7:30 p.m.
The men are coming off a second place finish at the OZ Memorial. Trent Lusignan was the top Jackrabbit finisher with a third place finish. Lusignan completed the meet with a time of 19:01.28.
The women finished tied for third at the OZ Memorial. Laura Lawton finished 19th with a time of 23:29.33.
The SDSU Classic will feature teams from all around the Midwest.

Valley City State
Last year at the SDSU Classic, the Jackrabbit men finished second and Jared Ailts was the top Jackrabbit finisher in sixth. Ailts completed the course in 25:53.7.
On the women’s side, last year SDSU finished third, with a 14th place finish from Erin Hargens. Hargens finished the course in 18:32.5.
After the SDSU Classic the Jackrabbits won’t be in action again until Sept. 29 at the Griak Invitational in Falcon Heights, Minn.
