TAMPA, Fla. - South Dakota State's women's swimming team posted seven top-five finishes to turn in a fourth-place finish out of seven teams Saturday at the Tampa Relays.
The 400-yard individual medley relay team of Kayce Smith, Bianca Ninneman, Shauna Foor and Emma Wright registered the highest finish for the Jackrabbits, placing second with a time of 4 minutes, 22.42 seconds.
Other top finishes for the Jackrabbits were a third-place finish in the 3x166 SNARF relay and a fourth-place effort in the 3x100 butterfly relay. The SNARF trio of Andrea Budahl, Emma Gaulke-Janowski and Kelsey Boucher place third in 5:35.48, while the butterfly triad of Trina Young, Wright and Kylie Poel clocked a time of 3:06.41.
Rice (Texas) won the meet with 126 points, followed by host Tampa with 98 points and SUNY Geneseo third with 66. SDSU placed fourth with 56.
The Jackrabbits return to dual action Jan. 12 at South Dakota.
