VERMILLION, S.D. – The men’s track and field team is currently in third place after day one of The Summit League Indoor Championships. The Jackrabbits found great success in the men’s 3000-meter run as they placed three runners in the top four.
LeAndre Kennedy qualified for the 60-meter dash finals with his time of 6.94. His time today is a new personal best and ties the second best time in SDSU history.
In the men’s heptathlon, Bennett Mercil is in eighth place after four events with 2497 points.
Levi Winkels ran a time of 50.99 to qualify eighth for 400-meter dash finals.
Jeremiah Ary took sixth in the long jump with a distance of 22’ 2.50”.
Cullen Mack posted a new personal best in the weight throw with his mark of 52’ 6.50”.
In the pole vault, Ryan Schaefer finished seventh with a height of 14’ 3.50”.
The Jackrabbits will be back in action again tomorrow as they wrap-up day two of The Summit League Indoor Championships. The events will begin at 9:30 a.m. with the men’s 60-meter hurdles (heptathlon).
