NEW ORLEANS – After a strong finish at The Summit League Cross Country Championships, both Jackrabbit cross country teams are ranked in the Midwest Regional polls. The Jackrabbit men move up one spot to No. 10 and the women enter the rankings at No. 15.

The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) conduct the Midwest Regional rankings.

Monday’s rankings are the first time in SDSU history that both teams are ranked in the USTFCCCA polls at the same time. The men started the year at No. 12.

Last weekend, the SDSU men won their fourth Summit League title in five years and the women placed second overall.

Trent Lusignan brought home the men’s individual title and Cheyanne Bowers finished second in the women’s 6k.

The Jackrabbits do not compete this weekend as they prepare for the NCAA Midwest Regional meet on Nov. 15. The Midwest Regionals take place in Ames, Iowa as they are hosted by Iowa State.
