TULSA, Okla. -- In the first day of men's doubles action at the ITA Regionals, juniors Andrea Boglic and Parker Lawley went 2-0, defeating teams from Iowa and the University of Missouri-Kansas City by scores of 8-4 and 8-6, respectively.

"Making it to the third round is quite the accomplishment," head coach Michael Engdahl said. "When you look at the remaining competition, there is only one other mid-major school. I am proud of them and can't wait to see what they do tomorrow."

The SDSU women only played three doubles matches today because of incliment weather.

"Today was a short day for the girls, but they pleayed well and lost to some solid teams," Engdahl said. "

Florencia Magni and Iasmin Rosa outlasted a tandem from St. Louis University 8-5 to advance before falling to the No. 1-ranked team from Tulsa.

"Those two girls battled through and pulled out a great win," Engdahl said. "It was a great learning experience for them."

Action will resume tomorrow at 8 a.m.
