The South Dakota State men's and women's tennis teams dropped road meets at Northern Colorado, 6-1 and 6-1...

In the women's first meet and the men's second meet since returning from the spring trip to Florida, the Jacks were outmatched by Northern Colorado.

The Bears jumped on top early, with a pair of sweeps in doubles.

On the women's side, the Jacks dropped two hard fought matches at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles. Jenny Blackburne and Brooke Henry lost by a single break at No. 1, 8-5, while Bryna Nasenbeny and Megan McDougall were slowed in a tiebreaker at No. 2, 8-7.

In singles, Blackburne scored the lone team point for the Jacks in a third-set tiebreaker at No. 2, 4-6, 6-3, 13-11. Nasenbeny and McDougall each dropped a set by a 7-5 score at No. 1 and No. 4, respectively.

On the men's side, the SDSU doubles teams were all bested by 8-3 scores.

In singles, James Thorp notched the team point at No. 4 singles with a 6-0, 6-4 win. Parker Lawley, who had been on a roll as of late, fell in a second-set tiebreaker, 6-2, 7-6 (7-2).

Both teams face Metro State in Denver, Colo., on Friday.
