The South Dakota State men's tennis team bounced back to close out the road trip by defeating Missouri-St. Louis, 6-3...
The meet was similar to yesterday's in scoring format, but moved indoors due to poor weather conditions in St. Louis. SDSU was not phased by the sudden change.
Four of the singles matches were decided in third-set super tiebreakers, and the Jacks claimed three of those as wins.
Pyle pulled out a 6-2, 3-6, 11-9 win at No. 1 to set the tone. Rossetto followed suit with a 6-2, 6-7 (6-8), 10-6 win at No. 2.
Lawley was the only straight-set winner, earning a first-set tiebreaker win before coasting in the second set, 7-6 (7-4), 6-2.
Thorp was the other SDSU win at No. 4 with a 6-3, 1-6, 11-9 victory.
"Today was the most complete team match we have played all season," head coach Michael Engdahl said. "Everyone fought hard through the entire match and it was a great team win."
The Jacks improved to 6-12 with the win, and only two conference meets remain on the regular season schedule.
"We have had a lot of close matches this year and it feels good to get over the hump and win one," said Engdahl.
