Ochsner breaks 200 freestyle record

   Day Three

ROCHESTER, Mich. -- The South Dakota State University men's swimming and diving team increased their second place lead on day three of the Summit League Championships.

Senior Kyle Ochsner broke his school record in the 200 freestyle with a fifth place time of 1:40.76. His previoius record was 1:40.88, which he set at last year's conference meet.

Shea Patrick placed third in the 100 breaststroke with a personal-best time of 57.25 seconds.

The 400 medley relay team of Phil Albu, Patrick, Garth Wadsworth and Wil Hogue placed third with a time of 3:23.57.

Phil Albu finished fourth in the 100 backstroke with a time of 50.29 seonds.

Alex McLain finished fith in the 400 individual medley with a personal-best time of 4:06.75.

Blake Yeager finished eighth in the 200 freestyle with a personal-best time of 1:41.89.

Wil Hogue won the 200 freestyle consolation championship with a time of 1:41.93.

The men are currently in second with 342 points and are ahead of IUPUI by 41 points. The final day of the championships start Saturday morning with prelims.
