Hanten ties for 6th, Jacks finish 9th

PRIMM, Nev. - The South Dakota State women's golf team finished ninth at the Summit League Championships on Tuesday. The Jackrabbit women compiled a 54-hole score of 956 (320-327-309) in the 10-team, 50-player field. Their third round, 18-hole score of 309 is tied for the sixth best in school history.

Brittany Hanten led the Jacks firing a 226 (77-76-73) and finished tied for sixth. Hanten's 54-hole score of 226 is the sixth best in school history. Morgan Fitts tallied a 233 (79-81-73) and finished tied for 18th. Hanten and Fitts' final round scores of 73 are tied for the sixth best in school history. Alli Plath registered a 244 (79-82-82) and finished tied for 37th. Amber Houser carded a 253 (85-88-80) and finished in 46th place. Jordan Trohkimoinen shot a 261 (86-92-83) and finished in 50th place.

Oral Roberts, the only women's team to ever win the conference, took the conference title for the 15th consecutive year with a score of 909 (297-314-298). North Dakota State finished second with a score of 913 (306-313-294), while Missouri-Kansas City finished third with a score of 916 (308-309-299). Amy Anderson of NDSU took the individual title for the second straight year with a score of 218 (72-70-76).

The Jackrabbit women play next for the Dakota Cup in Morton, Minn. on April 28.
