KELLER, Texas—The South Dakota State women’s golf team sits in third after the first round of the 2014 Summit League Women’s Golf Championship at the Sky Creek Golf Club in Keller, Texas.

SDSU shot a 321 at the par-72, 6,953-yard layout. The Jacks trail first place and 41st ranked Denver by 26 shots, and are two shots behind North Dakota State.

Freshman Megan Mingo (Yankton) leads the Jackrabbits after shooting a five-over par 77 to tie for sixth. She was four over on the front nine and four over on the back nine.

Sophomore Sydney MacDonald (Calgary, Alberta) sits in a tie for 12th after shooting a seven-over par 79. She was six over on the front nine, but rebounded with a one-over par on the back nine.

Freshman Islamiah Fuad (Perak, Malaysia) was nine-over with an 82 and sits in a tie for 21st while sophomore Brianna Janu (Glenwood, Minn.) is tied for 23rd after firing an 83 (37-46).

Junior Myranda Dunmire (Palmdale, Calif.) shot an 86 and is tied for 28th.
