LINCOLN, Neb. -- The South Dakota State women's golf team finished in 11th place at the Chip-N Club Invitational at Wilderness Ridge Tuesday. The tournament was shortened to two rounds because of weather.
The Jackrabbits recorded a score of 625 (314-311) for their 11th-place showing in the 14-team field.
Rebecca Swords finished in a tie for 20th place, carding a 153 (76-77). Rachel Hanigan finished tied for 23rd place by tallying a 154 (76-78).
Brittany Hanten and Morgan Fitts both compiled a score of 160 (81-79) and finished tied for 58th place. Katie Purcell finished tied for 66th place, registering a score of 161 (84-77). Abby Feehan competed as an individual and finished in 83rd place shooting a 167 (83-84).
Arkansas State won the Chip-N Club Invitational by one stroke after tallying a score of 598 (306-292). Amy Anderson of North Dakota State finished first in the medalist race by one stroke shooting a 144 (71-73).
The Jackrabbit women return to action Sept. 18th at the Hawkeye Intercollegiate in Iowa City, Iowa.
