BRADENTON, Fla. -- The South Dakota State women's golf team finished 13th out of 19 teams at the Waterlefe Invitational Tuesday, compiling a three-round-score of 952 (321-304-327).
Katie Purcell led the Jackrabbit women by shooting a 235 (80-75-80) and finished in 32nd place in the 103-player tournament. Morgan Fitts tied for 50th and tallied a 239 (83-77-79). After a strong first day, Brittany Hanten registered a 240 (75-76-89) and tied for 55th place. Rachel Hanigan tied for 63rd after carding a 243 (85-76-82). Rebecca Swords shot a 255 (83-86-86) and finished tied for 92nd. Abby Feehan competed as an individual and registered a 271 (90-91-90) to wind up in 101st place.
Daytona State College finished in first place, compiling a three-round-score of 884 (296-299-289). Daytona State's Mitsuki Katahira took medalist honors shooting a 208 (69-68-71).
The Jackrabbit women continue play in Florida, competing at the LPGA Xavier Invitational in Daytona Beach Friday through Sunday.
