DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — The South Dakota State women's golf team stands in
ninth place after two rounds of the LPGA Xavier Invitational. The Jackrabbit women have
compiled a two-round-score of 626 (315-311) in the 14-team and 78-player
tournament, but are only 12 strokes away from being in the top three in the team standings.
Rachel Hanigan leads the Jackrabbit women with a score of 154 (75-79) and is tied for 16th place. Brittany Hanten is right behind after carding a team-best 75 on Saturday to stand tied for 18th at 155 (80-75). Morgan Fitts has registered a two-round total 159 (83-76) and is tied for 42nd place. Katie Purcell and Rebecca Swords are both tied for 50th after tallying scores of 161 (80-81). Abby Feehan is competing as an individual and shot a 177 (88-89) and is tied for 76th.
Daytona State College is currently in first place in the tournament with a team score of 595 (305-290). Individually, Daytona State's Mitsuki Katahira is in first place with a score of 138 (69-69).
The third and final round starts Sunday morning.
