SDSU completes fall season
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- The South Dakota State women's golf team wrapped up the fall season Tuesday with a 12th-place finish out of 17 teams at the MSU/Payne Stewart Memorial. The Jackrabbits moved up two spots on the final day of competition, compiling a three-round score of 983.
Katie Purcell led the Jackrabbits with a score of 244 (83-84-77) and finished tied for 43rd in the 96-player tournament. Abby Feehan finished tied for 49th after carding a score of 246 (87-74-85). Rachel Hanigan tallied a 249 (83-82-84) and finished tied for 59th. Brittany Hanten and Rebecca Swords registered scores of 252 (89-78-85 and 88-86-78 respectively) and finished tied for 70th.
The University of Arkansas at Little Rock won the MSU/Payne Stewart Memorial with a team-score of 903 (307-296-300). Kelly Amundrud of Bradley University (Ill.) took individual medalist honors with a score of 221 (71-74-76).
The spring season starts March 6 at the UNLV Spring Invitational in Las Vegas Nev.
