Jacks lead at Creighton
OMAHA, Neb. - The South Dakota State women's golf team sits in first place by seven strokes after the first day of the Creighton Classic on Monday. The Jackrabbit women battled windy conditions and compiled a team score of 339 through one round at the Oak Hills Country Club.
Brittany Hanten and Rachel Hanigan paced the Jacks with scores of 83 and they are currently tied for fifth place. Katie Purcell carded an 85 and is tied for seventh. Morgan Fitts tallied an 88 and is tied for 14th. Abby Feehan shot an 89 and is tied for 18th. Whitney Schrader, competing as an individual, registered a 95 and is tied for 36th. The Jackrabbit women have never won a tournament in the D-I era.
Amy Anderson of North Dakota State leads individually with a score of 78. The second and final round starts Tuesday morning.
