Jackrabbits finish sixth at Summit meet

PRIMM, Nev. - The South Dakota State women's golf team finished in sixth place Tuesday in the Summit League Championships at the Primm Valley Golf Club Lakes Course. The Jackrabbit women compiled a 54-hole score of 952 (316-324-312), which is tied for the eighth-best 54-hole score in the school's Division I history.

Morgan Fitts led the Jacks with a score of 236 (80-78-78) and finished in 13th place. Brittany Hanten tallied a 237 (77-86-74) and finished 14th. Her final-round 74 is tied for the ninth-best 18-hole score in school history. Rachel Hanigan finished tied for 15th after carding a 238 (79-79-80). Katie Purcell registered a 241 (80-81-80) and finished tied for 19th. Abby Feehan shot a 254 (86-88-80) and finished tied for 36th.

Oral Roberts won the tournament with a 54-hole score of 911 (313-307-291) and won by 27 strokes. Western Illinois finished in second with a score of 938 (315-320-303). Amy Anderson of North Dakota State took medalist honors with a score of 219 (72-77-70).

The Jackrabbit women play next at the Dakota Cup on April 30 in Morton, Minn.
