DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The South Dakota State women's golf team is 12th out of 13 teams after the first round of the LPGA Xavier International.
The Jacks shot 327 as a team, which puts them a shot behind Jacksonville.
Morgan Fitts led the way for the Jackrabbits shooting an opening round 80 (37-43, +8) to put herself in a six-way tie for 35th.
Sophomore Katie Purcell (40-42) and freshman Amber Houser (38-44) are both tied for 45th after shooting 82, while freshman Alli Plath is one shot behind with an 83.
Brittany Hanten rounds things out for SDSU with a first round 95 (47-48), all alone in 72nd.
Campbell University leads the field with a score of 298.
Amy Anderson of North Dakota State is in first place individually with a round of 70 (-2).
Round two starts at 8 a.m. Saturday, with the final round on Sunday.
