KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. - The Jackrabbit women's golf team
finished in 14th place out of 18 teams at the Edwin Watts/Palmetto
Intercollegiate Monday. The women compiled a three-round team score of 937
(312-309-316). It was the third best 36-hole score in school history and the fourth best 54-hole score.
North Carolina-Greensboro won with a score of 875 (293-290-292).
Morgan Fitts led the Jacks, firing a 223 (75-74-74) and finishing tied for 14th. Brittany Hanten carded a 237 (79-79-79) and finished tied for 62nd. Alli Plath finished tied for 68th after tallying a 239 (77-80-82). Katie Purcell recorded a 241 (81-79-81) and finished tied for 71st. Amber Houser shot a 247 (82-77-88) and finished 84th.
Fanny Cnops of North Carolina-Greensboro took medalist honors with a score of 209 (70-72-67).
This concludes the fall season for the Jacks. They host the Jackrabbit Invitational in Primm, Nev., on March 12 to start the spring season.
