CHANDLER, Ariz. - The South Dakota State women's golf team finished in 21st place out of 24 teams Wednesday at the Cowgirl Classic hosted by Wyoming. The Jackrabbit women compiled a 54-hole score of 952 (317-318-317).
Morgan Fitts led the Jacks shooting a 232 (79-77-76) and finished tied for 53rd. Brittany Hanten carded a 233 (78-77-78) and finished tied for 58th. Amber Houser tallied a 238 (80-78-80) and finished tied for 80th. Alli Plath finished in 111th place after registering a score of 249 (80-86-83). Jordan Trohkimoinen shot a 262 (89-89-84) and finished 122nd.
Iowa won the event with a 54-hole score of 884 (289-301-294). Brianna Espinoza took medalist honors with a score of 208 (68-68-72). Espinoza shot the tournament's lowest individual score ever, surpassing a 213 shot by Britney Yada of Portland State in 2011.
The Jackrabbit women play next at the Creighton Classic in Omaha, Neb. on April16.
