ROCHESTER, Mich. - Nate Wolters followed Thursday's 53-point game with a 36 point outing on Saturday, and broke the SDSU career assists record in the process, but Oakland shot at 53 percent clip from beyond the arc, going 16-of-30 from deep in an 88-83 Golden Grizzlies win.

Wolters added six rebounds and seven assists, which gives him an SDSU career-record 609 assists for his career, breaking the mark of 605, set by Brian Norberg from 1995-99.

"That's almost more important to me than the points record," Wolters said of breaking the assists record. "You don't want to just be a guard that can score, you want to distribute the ball as well and make your teammates better."

The loss snaps an eight game winning streak by the Jackrabbits and drops their record to 19-7 overall and to 10-3 in The Summit League. Oakland's fifth win in a row evens its record to 13-13 overall and to 8-4 in the league.

"We weren't good tonight. We were good enough offensively, but we just couldn't guard them off the dribble. (Duke)Mondy and (Drew) Valentine; really those two guys were the guys that beat us, we just couldn't guard them off the dribble," head coach Scott Nagy said. "They spread you out, and you can't pull help off of (Travis) Bader, so you have to guard those guys one-on-one and we didn't do it."

The game featured a total of 17 lead changes, 14 of which came in the first half, before the Jackrabbits used a 13-2 run at the end of the half turn a seven point deficit into a 42-38 halftime lead.

Oakland came out hot in the second half and took the lead for good at 49-47 on a Valentine layup, and-1, with 17:10 left in the game.

The Jacks would force the last of seven tie scores on a pair of Wolters free throws with 12 minutes to play, but Valentine answered with a 3-pointer on the other end 17 seconds later to put the Golden Grizzlies up for good.

Wolters'36 points and seven assists led all players in the game. Chad White added a season-high 21 pints, Brayden Carlson finished with 11 and Tony Fiegen 10 points in the loss. Jordan Dykstra finished with five points, but tied for game-high honors with 11 rebounds.

Bader led four OU players in double figures with 31 points, including a 9-for-16 night from long distance. Mondy added 26, Valentine 12 and Dante Williams 10 points. Corey Petros led the Grizzlies with 11 rebounds.

Three-pointers and turnovers made the difference, as Oakland finished the night 16-of-30 from deep, 53 percent, while the Jacks went 10-for-27, 37 percent. OU won the turnover battle 14-4, scoring 18 points off of SDSU turnovers, while the Jacks scored 10 points off of four OU miscues.
