Pack's 2-0 weekend garners league honors
OREM, Utah -- For the second time this season, 157-pound Cody Pack has been named the Western Wrestling Conference Wrestler of the Week. Pack's weekend was highlighted by a pin over nationally-ranked Mitchell Polkowske of Northern Colorado.
Pack, who now sits at 25-6 on the year, began the weekend with a 7-2 over Northern Illinois' Andrew Morse in SDSU's home finale, which the Jacks won, 27-6.
The Jacks had a quick turnaround as they traveled to Greeley, Colo., to take on Northern Colorado in a WWC showdown. Pack led No. 25 Polkowske 15-2 before turning him for a final time and recording the fall at the 5:51 mark.
With the wins, the Quincy, Calif., native now owns a 12-1 dual mark and is 4-0 in the WWC.
SDSU is set to take on North Dakota State Sunday afternoon with the WWC dual championship on the line. Wrestling is slated for 2 p.m.
