The South Dakota State wrestling team made another splash on Wednesday, signing a heavyweight from Louisiana...
Jacob Haydel joins the team from Brusly, La., as its third commitment in as many days.
Haydel was a three-time Louisiana state champion and posted a 51-1 overall record his senior season. He was a 2011 Junior Nationals Greco-Roman All-American and NHSCA Sophomore Division All-American in 2009.
"Jacob is a big pick up for us," head coach Chris Bono said. "Getting a big heavyweight was crucial for the future of this program. Haydel won a lot of matches and competed in the big tournaments you look for as a coach. We are excited to have him here and competing for the Jackrabbits."
Haydel's commitment comes after two other SDSU commitments on Monday.
