South Dakota State wrestler Aaron Pickrel earned 2011-12 NWCA All-Academic Division I Team honors for his athletic and academic performance this season...

On this year's Individual All-Academic Team there are 87 total athletes, five NCAA Champions, three NCAA Runner-Ups, 23 All-Americans and 77 NCAA Qualifiers.

Pickrel finished the season at 23-11 overall and 10-3 in dual matches at 125 pounds as a redshirt junior.

Pickrel was named to the all-academic team last season, as well.

As a team, the Jackrabbits were 18th in the academic team standings.

"We have some guys who are doing things right and their focus is great," assistant coach Ty Eustice said. "I think this team has the ability to do some even better things in the classroom. Hopefully the leaders can step up and push the other guys to expect more from themselves in all areas of life."
