Jacks still 12th at Xavier Invite

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla.-- The Jackrabbit women’s golf team remains in 12th place after day two of the 2012 LPGA Xavier Collegiate Invitational.

SDSU shot a 339 as a team in round two, giving them a two-day total of 680 after posting a score of 341 in the opening round Friday.

Morgan Fitts carded the lowest score for the Jacks again with a round of 82 and sits in a tie for 36th (81-82-163). 

After a score of 88 in the first round, Amber Houser shot 83 in round two (171) to jump up five places in the standings from day one and sits in 56th.

Freshmen Michaela Kouri and Brianna Janu are tied for 61st with two-day totals of 173. Kouri had rounds of 84 and 89, while Janu posted scores of 88 and 85. Rounding out the top-five for the Jacks, fellow freshman Sydney MacDonald sits in a tie for 72nd after rounds of 97 and 91 (188).

Florida Gulf Coast University remains the top team with rounds of 310 and 308 for a tournament total of 618, with Old Dominion University two strokes back at 620 (312-308).

Individually, there is a tie atop the leaderboard between Mercer University’s Lacey Fears (73-75-148) and FGCU’s Georgia Price (74-74-148).

The tournament wraps up Sunday with a shotgun start at 8:00 a.m.
