MACOMB, Ill. -- The South Dakota State men's golf team is in second place after one round of the Beu/Mussatto Invitational.The Jackrabbit men compiled a team score of 299, and they are only five strokes behind host Western Illinois in the 16-team tournament.
Hudson Carpenter leads the Jacks with a score of 73 and is tied for sixth place. David Smith is tied for eighth after carding a 74. Kyle Cooper tallied a 75 and is tied for 14th. Greg Fehrman registered a 77 and is tied for 27th. Lukas Davison is tied for 53rd after shooting an 81.
Gino Parrodi of Eastern Illinois leads with a first-round score of 66 in the field of 90 golfers.The second round was suspended due to darkness and will resume Tuesday morning, followed by the third and final round.
