NEBRASKA CITY, Neb. - The South Dakota State men's golf team improved one spot and finished fifth out of 12 teams at the Fairway Club Invitational on Tuesday. The Jackrabbit men shot a final round 295 -- the lowest team score of the day -- to finish with a score of 908 (307-306-295).
Host Nebraska won with a score of 894 (300-292-302)
Nolan Meyer led the Jacks with a score of 221 (73-76-72) and finished tied for seventh. Hudson Carpenter fired a 231 (75-80-76) and finished tied for 21st. Dillon Schultz carded a 232 (77-75-80) and finished 24th. David Smith finished tied for 27th after tallying a 234 (82-77-75). Greg Fehrman shared the team's individual low round of the day on Tuesday and registered a 235 (85-78-72) to finish tied for 30th.
Lukas Davison and TJ Lovato competed as individuals. Davison shot a 242 (78-79-85) and finished tied for 51st, while Lovato carded a 246 (78-84-84) and finished 61st.
Dailey Young of Missouri State took medalist honors with a score of 213 (67-74-72).
The Jackrabbit men play next at the Kansas Invitational in Lawrence, Kan. on Sept. 19.
