Smith in first place in Kansas
LAWRENCE, Kan. - David Smith leads the Kansas Invitational through two rounds after firing a total of 140 (68-72) on Monday. He is one stroke ahead of Chris Weninger of Louisiana-Lafayette and Cole Chelle of UMKC.
The Jackrabbit men are in sixth place with a team score of 601 (302-299).
Louisiana-Lafayette leads with a team score of 581 (297-284).
Hudson Carpenter carded a 153 (78-75) and is tied for 39th. Nolan Meyer and Greg Fehrman shot a 155 (80-75 and 78-77 respectively) and are tied for 45th. Dillon Schultz is tied for 62nd after registering a 159 (78-81).
The final round starts Tuesday morning.
