SIOUX FALLS, S.D.-- The South Dakota State men’s golf team kicked off the inaugural Jackrabbit Fall Invitational at the Minnehaha Country Club on Sunday and stand in second place after two rounds.
Junior Hudson Carpenter carded rounds of 70 and 74 (144) for the Jacks and sits in a tie for fifth at four-over par. Joining him in the top-ten, senior Greg Fehrman and freshman Miles Knutsen are in a tie for ninth with two other players after posting opening rounds of 74 and 74 (148).
Competing as individuals, freshman AC Sitter posted rounds of 74 and 76 (150) and ended day one of the tournament in a tie for 14th while junior Lukas Davison is in a tie for 37th after rounds of 79 and 76 (155). Freshman Joey Pickelsis close behind in a tie for 39th with rounds of 78 and 79 (157).
North Dakota State leads the eight team field with a total score of 579, followed by SDSU (584) and Northern Iowa (587).
Individually, UNI’s Glenn Walls sits atop the leader board at one-over par after rounds of 71 and 70 (141) followed closely by NDSU’s Nathan Anderson (142) and Alex Kline of South Dakota (142).
The third and final round begins with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. Monday.
